Your privacy is important to me. I am committed to protecting your personal data.

This privacy policy provides information about the personal data I collect, and how and why I collect, store, use and share your personal data, and tells you about your rights in relation to your personal data and how to contact me or supervisory authorities if you have a complaint. 'Personal data' is any information that can directly or indirectly identify an individual ('a data subject').

I, Verity Harrison, trading as 'Port in a Storm', am an independent artist and print seller based in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Spain, with National Identity Number X2839915J and I am the sole controller of data provided. This means that I determine the purposes for which, and the way in which, personal data are processed. As a data controller I comply with all applicable data protection laws.

WHAT PERSONAL INFORMATION DO I COLLECT ABOUT YOU?

I may collect and process the following personal information: Identity Data, which includes your first name and last name. Contact Data, which includes your billing address, delivery address, email address and telephone number. Financial Data, which includes payment card details (processed by Stripe, not stored by me directly). Order Data, which includes details of the prints and products you have purchased. Marketing and Communications Data, which includes your preferences in receiving marketing information from me and your communication preferences.

I do not collect any special categories of personal data (which include sensitive personal information such as details about your race, ethnicity, religious beliefs, political affiliation and sexual orientation).

HOW I COLLECT PERSONAL DATA

I collect most of this information from you directly, for example when you:

Place an order for a print or product, sign up to my mailing list, request information, or get in touch with a question or some feedback.

HOW I PROCESS YOUR PERSONAL DATA

Processing an order: if you order a print or product from me, I process your identity, contact and order data in order to fulfil, package and ship that order to you, and to send you tracking information.

Payment: payments are handled securely by Stripe. I do not see or store your full card details.

Mailing list: if you sign up to hear from me, your email address is stored with EmailOctopus, my email service provider, so that I can send you updates. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email.

Website hosting: this website is built and hosted on Framer.

Analytics: I use Fathom Analytics to measure website activity. Fathom is cookie free and GDPR compliant, and does not track you personally.

YOUR RIGHTS IN RELATION TO THE PERSONAL DATA THAT I PROCESS

You have the following rights over the way I process personal data relating to you. I aim to respond as soon as practicable but within one month at the latest. I do not charge a fee to respond to your request:

To ask for a copy of the data I am processing about you, to have inaccuracies corrected, to ask me to restrict, stop processing, or delete your personal data, to request a machine-readable copy of your personal data, which you can use with another service provider. CHILDREN

I do not knowingly use this website to solicit data from or market to children under the age of 13.

If a parent or guardian becomes aware that their child has provided me with information, or may be receiving communications from me, without their consent, I ask that this be brought to my immediate attention. SECURITY

I take commercially reasonable, appropriate technical and organisational measures to ensure a level of security appropriate to the risk that could be encountered through your use of this site and my services, taking into account the likelihood and severity of the risks this might pose to the rights and freedoms of my website visitors and customers.

In particular, I take precautions to protect against the accidental or unlawful destruction, loss or alteration, and unauthorised disclosure of or access to, personal information transmitted, stored or otherwise processed by me. While I make the security of this website and your personal information a high priority, no security system can prevent all security breaches. When you choose to share your personal information with me, you accept that you provide your information at your own risk.

RETENTION

In accordance with data protection laws and good commercial practice, I do not retain data in a form that permits identification of the person(s) to whom it relates for any longer than is necessary. Order and invoicing records are kept for the period required under Spanish tax law. Once the purpose for which information has been collected has been fulfilled, I will either permanently delete your personal information or remove all identifiers within it so that it is no longer personal data.

INTERNATIONAL DATA TRANSFERS

I am based in Spain and the information I collect directly from you is stored accordingly. I ship prints internationally, and as part of fulfilling an order your contact and delivery data may be shared with couriers such as Correos and, where relevant, customs authorities in your destination country.

Some of my third-party service providers (such as Stripe, EmailOctopus and Framer) may be located outside of the EU, or may transfer data outside the EU as part of their operations. Where this happens, appropriate safeguards are in place that meet the requirements of EU data protection law.

CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

This privacy policy may be updated from time to time. I will notify you of any changes by posting the new privacy policy on this website. You are advised to consult this page regularly for any changes.
